About and Contact

In the last couple of years, Scandinavian design, food and culture have become extremely popular around the world. Scandinavia is a region in northern Europe and consists of the three kingdoms Norway, Denmark and Sweden, which share strong linguistic and cultural bonds - but it is so much more than just that. Being Scandinavian, you have a special way to approach life, cook food and wear clothes. It is the way that Danes wear their sneakers with an all black outfit and the way Swedes take a Fika (Swedish word for break, normally accompanied by a friend, a cake and a cup of coffee.) Luckily, you don’t have to go all the way to Scandinavia to get your Scandinavian fix (even though, that is highly recommended sometimes) - it can all be found in one of the most cultural cities in the world: London.

SCANDIWAY's purpose
Why this online platform? SCANDIWAY is made for all those Scandinavians who have taken the plunge and moved to London. SCANDIWAY is for those who just stick their head over for a few days, but still want a bit of home when culture clash becomes a bit to overwhelming; but not least, SCANDIWAY is for everyone else, who just love Scandinavia, but do not spend the majority of their time there. With SCANDIWAY, I want to show that you can easily find the Scandinavian food, the music, the personalities and last, but not least, the Scandinavian vibe in London if you know where to look. With SCANDIWAY there now is a place to look.

Future
SCANDIWAY is still a new online platform and I still have many places to visit and add to the site, events to go to and ideas to create. It is an ongoing project and this is just the beginning - so don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any ideas, events coming up or similar.

Last, I just want to say a huge thanks to all you Scandinavians who have opened Scandinavian places in London, are responsible for events and spreading the Scandinavian culture and hereby giving others an insight into your, or let me say our culture. I am truly grateful that you’re here. Especially so I, even though I was living miles from my home city Copenhagen, didn't need to live without my Danish Rye Bread - because that would be a true shame. Enjoy.
